So I was on my way to work, see, when I saw this nice big advertisement put up near a bus stop. It was for this lactobacillus culture drink or something that apparently is really popular - which I must say is a surprise, because for one thing, I don't drink it. But that's besides the point. The point is that there's this ad, and the got this rising television starlet to feature in it, as all rising television starlets do, taking up simple modelling assignments and such.

What I found really odd was the fact that this girl was being squeezed into this top, see, which sort of made it look like it was meant to emphasize her cleavage. And therein lies the problem - this starlet is not known for her figure, which, shall I say, is on the modest side. And knowing that little piece of factlet made the image that much more wrong.

And, I mean, in the first place, when did the old advertising maxim "sex sells" spread to health culture drinks? What's wrong with the regular white T-shirt image, which I must note would probably have fitted this starlet so very much better?

If she hasn't got it, don't force her to flaunt it. Got that, advertisers?

I'm hours away from my final day working at this news desk on a contract basis. And I have to admit, I will miss this place. It's very much the environment and the people who are there at the workplace. They've made a difference in some way in terms of the experience I've had.

Like this guy who's got a bit of beard and stuff who also writes football - when he's not busy writing his own literary stuff or smoking his lungs out. Or this really tall and, I must say, quite attractive-looking babe who works in the adjacent Entertainment Desk. Or all her female colleagues, including someone who's got this very interesting way of talking when I hear her chat with people over the phone.

Or the folks over at the layout department, including this old man who really manages to get things done pretty nice and good. Or this entertaining uncle - well he's all of over 40 years old, maybe even over 50. Quite a funny guy, he is. Or this lovely lady who I sort of look upon as an elder sister I never had - although she's probably well into her 30s, and I'm not.

The artwork and photography department's also got a couple of interesting folks too, and I haven't even talked about this guy who I think is the deputy editor. I've never quite worked that out, exactly what title this man holds. But I liked all of them, and I think they all liked me.

And now I'm leaving. It almost brings a tear or two to my eyes, except I'm not the type to shed tears - which I am disappointed about, by the way. Because somehow it makes me feel less complete.

Tomorrow's my last day working in the office. After this I will work for these guys in a different way, perhaps. I'm going to miss them all.

It looks a shade strange reading my blog on a screen resolution of 1280x768 rather than the old 1024x768, but I guess that's what happens when I get to read off a wider screen nowadays.

It does feel strange, though. But then this has been a strange week full of lows and highs - and the odd moderate.

I don't want to be a burden, but somehow I'm sensing that I might be turning into one.

I don't know what to do...

I can't talk too much about it - not here, not when I've been cautioned that this place is still too public.

And I refuse to switch to LiveJournal just to make things protected.

But how else can I talk about it?
