Work has been somewhat hectic, which is in a way a good sign. The only bad thing about it is that I have not been able to update my blog properly - I still haven't.

In fact, that's kinda why I haven't been trading at all on BlogShares, much less do a proper job with my duties there. Do I feel bad about it? Sure I do. Do I think I can make up for it and go back to helping out? Not within the week, but definitely afterward.

I've also not had time to be properly excited by the fact that The Amazing Race is coming real soon, like, next week? I need to sit down and look at the teams, although by the look of it there is one decent guy-girl team. Definitely the girl looks hometown-type attractive, and the team looks capable of lasting quite a bit. Let's see how it goes.

I have managed to slot in some time to fix up elements of my template, mostly to do with the fact that Civ4 has been released long ago and I've still been holding the Civ3 link. Also, of course, putting up the link to The Amazing Race 9. And then there is the French Open - having missed the Australian Open completely, I am not going to make the same mistake twice!

Too bad I've not been able to pay much time on Torino 2006...

While on sports, United going out of the FA Cup? Is not pleasant, but what really puts it into perspective is Alan Smith's injury. I didn't see it, and I would like to, to find out the extent of Smudger's bravery. In fairness to Peter Crouch though, it was about time he scored with a header. I wish him the very best - just don't score against United again!

The thing with Crouch is that I am convinced he won't be a flop if someone knows how to train him and give him better heading skills. He's got good ball control at feet, and he's shown the smarts, but the big problem with him is that people see his height and think he should be a good header of the ball, only he's not. As someone who's a professional footballer and probably doesn't have very much else to do (in terms of product endorsements, etc.) some kind of special training should be possible.

Now that I have a harddisk (and am not yet happily and extensively using it) I am thinking about raising money for both a camera and a Palm. The latter is becoming relevant because I am bleeding time travelling after a game, and my laptop does not power up without an AC connection. And my editor just started blaming me for not sending a report to him before midnight. Er, hello, I don't drive, and I get paid so little it's not worth cabbing. Which means I get home at about 11.30pm. Be grateful I'm willing to work into the small hours.

Anyway, if people would like to see me work faster then they're going to have to give me the technological aid. Which is where the Palm comes in, because I'd write Word documents on it and save some time.

It's going to be another busy week. I've got a press conference to attend in an hour or so.

I just love this job! Really I do.
