I see that the one responsible has announced my presence on her site. In the words of my departed friends, "this is good".

Typically, one of the first postings will be used to give a self-introduction. I am choosing between giving my name card and keeping everyone guessing. The latter method kills brain cells and can be somewhat more exciting. The former is more attractive because it allows the chance for me to go ego-tripping - which is second nature to people who are in "the profession".

This television show that has been airing for almost three months on weekday nights will show its final episode tonight - the first and last on a Saturday night. Sometimes you wonder how television programmers go about doing their work. Of course, there is method in their madness. The question is whether methods like these are inherently mad.

Oh, the pretenders are playing the Trotters today. I hope Arsene drops points. I have a sneaky feeling Alex won't win in London tonight.

A few ground rules before I start posting anything and people start having expectations:

Rule 1: This is my blog. That means I, and not anyone else, has explicit control over what is being posted here. So if there's something you want me to write here and you ask for it, chances are you probably won't see it ever being written here unless I happen to think that I want to write it. So, no "pretty please", and bribes won't work - I'll take them but your requests/demands/exhortations won't go down.

Rule 2: This is my blog. That means whatever I write is supposed to make sense to me. If you don't understand what I mean when you read my postings, well, tough luck. My purpose for blogging is to share with the world my own thoughts in their rawest form. But since that's written from my perspective, it probably means I know what I'm writing and that's all that matters.

Rule 3: This is my blog. That means that anything I write here is absolutely personal. Nothing here should be interpreted as the official position or stand of whatever organizations I happen to belong to, even though I am proud to be part of these organizations and indeed, sometimes, these organizations and I are one (however you want to interpret it is up to you - I don't really care). If you misinterpret what I say to be official stances, that's your mistake. Again, too bad.

Rule 4: This is my blog. That means I write things that might inspire comments. These are most welcome, but I might not always be able to read them, or for that matter read them correctly. Constructive or interesting comments are welcome. Flames will be dealt with in kind. Defamation suits... well, I'll have to defame someone first. If there are any questions, contact my lawyer.

Okay, that's all the ground rules I have here. Now go play.
