A short note on the Emmy awards ceremony yesterday. Well, actually, going by American time, it'd be Sunday, but I'm west of the International Date Line, so.

Congratulations to The Amazing Race for winning its third consecutive Emmy! It also picked up a couple of smaller Emmy awards this year, but the big one is the Emmy for Best Reality Television Programme! Take that, Donald Trump!

(In case you didn't know, the other four nominees were The Apprentice, Survivor, American Idol and Project Runway. The last one, I presume, is about fashion or modelling.)

Also, The West Wing went away totally empty-handed, if I'm not wrong. Very few nominations, including Jimmy Smits, Alan Alda and Stockard Channing being the most notable. It even lost out on Best Writing, Best Direction and Best Drama, so things must have really gone down post-Sorkin.

Oh well. At least I've something to be happy about!
