I saw this advertisement on a bus today. It basically says something like this:

"This bus company thanks all our healthcare workers for their brave roles in the fight against SARS."

Which is great, except the SARS epidemic that scared the hell out of the Asia-Pacific was back in 2003, or thereabouts. That means the ad has been left on the bus for all of the last two years.

One would think that the bus company would have removed these outdated ads and put on new ones, so that it can, you know, earn new revenue. But I guess people aren't really taking out bus advertisements so much nowadays, huh?

You cannot be serious, CBS!

What do you mean the Paolo family has been eliminated from the race? And what do you mean, more importantly, that the Weaver family is in the Final Four?

This is atrocious. They don't deserve to finish this high because they're horrible, horrible persons. And they're getting more horrible by the week. They even have the gall to gang up on DJ - who I don't really like but who isn't horrid - and question him on his family Yielding them. I mean, so you get Yielded. Big deal! Is it illegal to Yield the Weavers?

Lots of people are saying this is a very flat season. I'll agree that the teams have not been anywhere near spectacular, the Gaghans apart. The Schroeders have potential, as do the Aiellos. But they're all out of the race, and they were my picks for the Final Three.

So we're left with the hunky but play-dumb Linz family, the rather anonymous Bransen family (those girls are looking cuter, but that may be because there are fewer people to compare against), the Godlewskis who are barely holding it together, but sure to like the whole experience... and then the Weavers.

The Weavers deserve to be crashing straight out of this. But somehow they stay. It's not even the luck of the evil, because at least the evil teams of the past have shown intelligence. Plus, I've backed the evil teams like Colin and Christie, and Rob and Amber. The Weavers are just hollow people that haven't got the game smarts.

Weavers, go. Now. Or at least come in dead last and pay up everything, including the clothes on your back. You don't usually wear that much anyway.

As you can tell, I've been somewhat behind with my updates. Mostly it's because my job is now succeeding at occupying me, and that's fine. It means I get paid to write, rather than blog for nothing. I'd still like to blog, though, except nowadays I'm getting increasingly limited to one-line retorts at comments from some other random website, and putting up that retort is a bit dumb when no one is aware of context.

Be that as it may, with the football season winding down soon, I expect to have a little more free time. Which does mean I should think about looking for other new assignments to tide over the Christmas period. This is supposed to be when the juicier contracts come in, but I'm still too new in this line to grab the best ones.

Anyone has recommendations?
