I decided to spend the last few weekends visiting some old friends and catching up on a few shows. Notwithstanding the fact that I ended up spending more time talking to people I didn't really know nearly so well, it was mostly an enjoyable trip.

I'm now relatively happily employed - if not nearly so happily remunerated - but going back to keep in touch with the guys in "the profession" was always going to be a bit of fun, not to mention a bit of agony at times. Yes, it's not the same when you're not the one running the show. But all said and done, it was pretty alright and functional, if rather less slick and grand than back in the old days.

That said, it was an executive decision these guys took, and they're in the position to do so, so they exercised their rights. What's there to complain about? Maybe there was, but then that's just going to come off as a whine.

So I thought maybe I'll get a little involved, for nothing more than fun and entertainment. Of course, that'll be some time in the future. Nowadays, since I do have proper employment outside, I do all these other things purely as a form of recreation. I don't lose much sleep over this, since there are other things to lose sleep over - like getting work done. The whole point is that these things are now distractions you turn to so that you'd get, well, distracted, but more to the point, you derive some kind of entertainment and end up recharging your batteries.

Things just don't work the same when you've become gainfully employed.

Anyway, good show to the lads, although in the end things got a little farcical, perhaps? Okay, maybe farce is the wrong word, because it became abundantly clear it was all about having a bit of fun too, kind of like an exhibition-esque thing, rather than something out-and-out competitive. Which is fine, except it went to the wrong place, maybe? Well who cares? It was fun, and they ran each other close.

Anyway, I haven't kicked a ball in weeks, mostly thanks to bad schedules. Thankfully, that's about to change later. I do hope it'll be fun. I've missed playing, and it hasn't done wonders to my fitness either.

And then, after that, there's work. Totally random thought: What's the odds that I'd be spotting bikini-clad babes while working? Oh no, I don't mean pictures, I mean in the flesh!
