Today I received affirmation that there is no god.

HOW COULD FREDDY AND KENDRA WIN THE AMAZING RACE? That's the more important question than, of course, how could Kris and Jon be denied?

We have the answer to the latter question - a train in Chicago blocking their way to the finish point.

All in all, a decent race in terms of locations, but this season had a very poor racer balance - and lots of nice people got knocked off way too early.

Last season I went against common emotion and backed Colin and Christie to take the loot. I had good reason, considering how competitive they were, and therefore how good they were as racers. I saw their nerves challenged time and again, mostly by themselves, but that was good competitive TAR television. This season was bad, in comparison. We didn't have enough goodly, competitive racers, just good people quietly plugging away and nervously dysfunctional people who can't really claim to be competitive. We also had the anonymous and the disgusting.

If they should ever have an all-star edition of The Amazing Race, I definitely want Kris and Jon, Gus and Hera, and Lena and Kristy back on. I wouldn't want Freddy and Kendra, for sure, because I can't stand the sight of a relatively anonymous model who goes around wearing that irritating purple spaghetti strap and showing how booby she was. Hayden? She's okay. Yes, incredibly too nervous and snappy as a consequence, but otherwise okay. Plus she would probably have enough good sense not to go again.

The seventh season comes soon after, and the initial hype seems to be over Rob and Amber. The only problem is, I have never seriously watched Survivor, so they'll just be two other people to me. I wasn't paying special attention to Alison last season, because I didn't watch Big Brother. So Rob and Amber will be no different to me.

Here's to the next season.
