I don't get why people delete entire blogs and start everything from scratch. I don't get why people decide to dump one blog and leave it in the dust while starting another one. And I don't get why people do more than alter their templates - they alter the entire way their webpage is organized.

Fortunately, I only don't get it, and I'm too unimportant for people to take note and respond accordingly.

A good chapter closes in the local television scene; unfortunately I am sure it is a matter of time before the new chapter to open proves to be so horrendous we'd want our old toys back. A friend once said that bad money often swamps and flushes out good money, which means that we could be in for a very terrible time if the new owners, who have had a history of wrecking entirely good things, decide to be true to form and go on another wrecking operation.

Another one bites the dust... RIP.

So, a new year is supposed to be upon us soon. And you'd think that I would join most people in writing a blog entry screaming Happy New Year.

Unfortunately I'm not like that. The beginning and end of a year are actually nothing but arbitrary marks, artificial borders and outlines drawn by human beings for no particular reason other than because it's easy to remember. Plus there's all the commercial opportunities for things like late night booze parties, foam parties and stuff like that.

Maybe the recent tsunami in the heart of the Indian Ocean was a reminder from the powers above that the end of yet another year is actually something meaningless. I wouldn't claim to know, because I don't actually believe that much in there being a power above. I'm unreligious, as friends all know, and I steadfastly refuse to be converted, because I don't see the point. But if it was indeed a reminder, it has not been well-heeded. Year-end parties still go on around the world, when really, nothing's changed except for the calendars on our walls.

I've got thoughts on all sorts of other things, including the latest episode of The Amazing Race, but I won't talk about them now because I have other things to do.
